Dr. Ballard is conducting a 3 part workshop for Spanish speaking families in the community, details below (SPANISH):
 

“¡Familia, Familia!” Es una serie de Talleres GRATUITOS en ESPAÑOL para las familias de niños pequeños que quieren aprender más acerca de su hijo. La Dra. Linda Ballard del SPIN estará aquí para ayudarle.

 

¡Venga y aprenda acerca de la conducta de su hijo!

¿Su hijo tiene problemas para dormir? ¿Comer?

¿Quieres consejos sobre cómo entrenar a su hijo al orinal?

October, 2013

Dr. Ballard will be completing requirements for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst credential in January 2014 and sitting for the BCBA exam in February 2014. 

She was also asked to participate in a co-authored training in Spanish for Latino parents of children with Autism and other developmental disabilities. This training is tentatively scheduled to occur in February or March, 2014.

 

April, 2012

 

Spring update:  Dr. Ballard is excited to be teaching the following courses at St. Joseph's University:

 

PSY 100 Introductory Psychology (3 credits)

This course introduces the student to the research problems, methods, findings, and basic theory which constitute the scientific investigation of human and animal behavior.


PSY 222 Neuropsychology (3 credits)

Neuropsychology will introduce students to understanding human brain/behavior relationships. Emphasis will be placed on commonly used approaches in assessing and measuring human behavior and how the human brain is responsible for cognition, language, memory, spatial processing, emotion, and personality. Students will gain an understanding of principles of brain organization, individual differences, and professional and clinical issues in neuropsychology.


PSY 237 Abnormal Child Psychology (3 credits)

This course will provide a comprehensive introduction to abnormal child psychology. Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and adolescents will be discussed. Specific disorders covered will include attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, anxiety disorders of childhood, affective (mood) disorders, conduct disorder and other disruptive behavior disorders, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and sleep disorders.

 

 

February, 2012

 

Update for 2012:  Dr. Ballard will be teaching several undergraduate courses this year, including a Neuropsychology class starting in the Fall.

 

December, 2011

 

The holidays are just around the corner. With assistance from an amazing team, several courses that Dr. Ballard has written are now live on Butterfly Effects' Continuing Education website. These are continuing education credits for clinicians who are part of the BACB or ASHA.

Dr. Ballard discussed childhood sexual abuse and trauma on radio program LA TREMENDA in September. She has been asked to return in Jan/Feb 2011 and may become a recurring special guest!


August, 2010

 

In September, Dr. Ballard will be a guest on the Spanish radio show La Tremenda- 1310 AM.

 

La Tremenda is a radio program showcasing Spanish-speaking mental health services in the Charlotte area.
